Why it helps
- Speeds up well-scoped development tasks.
- Helps a developer inspect and refine changes.
- Your team can move routine development work forward while keeping control of quality and decisions.
- Developers have more time for complex work that needs their judgement.
Give development a clear brief
Claude Code is an assistant for work inside a codebase. We use it for bounded development tasks such as exploring an unfamiliar module, drafting an implementation or investigating a failing check. A good brief describes the behaviour to change and the evidence that will show it works.
Keep the feedback loop short
We start with the existing project conventions and ask for a small, reviewable change. The resulting code goes through the same build, browser review and relevant tests as other development work. That feedback helps separate a plausible implementation from one that fits the project.
Review before release
Generated code can make incorrect assumptions about data, dependencies or the user journey. A developer checks the diff and tests the affected behaviour before release. We evaluate the assistant by the quality and maintainability of the finished change, including the review effort it needs.
