Google AI Mode ads: prepare the landing page.

My take on Google’s AI Mode ads expansion: what UAE teams should verify, how I would prepare a landing page and which enquiry metrics I would trust.

Two illustrated collaborators match a customer’s lamp question to an advertisement and the same lamp on a landing page.

The idea in brief

I would prepare one clear offer and a measurable enquiry journey before changing a campaign. Google’s 28 October expansion does not list the UAE, and AI Mode ads cannot be targeted as a separate placement.

When I read about another AI advertising rollout, I look at the page a customer will reach after the click. A useful conversation can surface a very specific need. If the destination answers with a generic company introduction, I think the business has wasted the most valuable part of that conversation.

Google's latest expansion of ads in AI Mode makes that gap worth reviewing now. My priority would be to connect one customer question to one useful offer, then measure whether the resulting enquiry deserves a salesperson's time.

What changed on 28 October

Google's 28 October announcement names ten expansion markets, including India, Singapore, Australia and Canada. It also announces ads across follow-up questions in the US and plans further expansion during Q4. The UAE is absent from the announcement's country list. I would verify current availability before proposing a local launch.

I see this as a reason to prepare a clearer customer journey. It is not evidence that a Dubai advertiser can select a dedicated AI Mode placement today, or that an existing campaign will suddenly deliver better leads.

My take: preserve the customer's question

Imagine someone comparing lighting for a small rented apartment: limited floor space, a warm reading light and no drilling. This is a hypothetical example, but it gives me a much better brief than “sell more lamps”. I would want the destination to explain dimensions, installation, delivery and the practical difference between suitable products.

For a service business, I would apply the same discipline. A prospect comparing CRM options for a five-person sales team needs to understand setup, ongoing ownership and who handles support. A long list of agency services leaves that decision unfinished. My guide to keeping the landing-page promise explains how I would maintain that continuity.

I would begin a 3tf pilot with one existing offer, one intended audience and one page whose claims the business can substantiate. I would agree the enquiry qualification rules before changing targeting. That gives the team a decision it can assess, rather than a collection of new features to admire.

Check the campaign controls first

According to Google Ads Help, eligible Search, Shopping and Performance Max campaigns can participate automatically. Ads cannot be targeted exclusively to AI Mode or excluded from it separately. Reporting is aggregated into existing campaign reports. Paid placements are labelled Sponsored and do not influence organic AI answers.

Those limits shape my proposed test. I would record the campaign configuration, markets, budget and conversion definitions before making changes. I would avoid attributing a campaign-wide improvement to AI Mode when the available report cannot isolate that placement. A useful commercial result and a proven explanation for that result are separate findings.

I would also review negative keywords, unsuitable offers and the destination URLs with the account owner. My earlier article on Google Ads budget controls covers why I would document a spending limit and a stop condition before an experiment starts.

The page I would prepare

I would make these checks before asking for more traffic:

  • Answer the decision: describe who the offer suits, what is included and which limitations could change the buyer's choice.
  • Make evidence inspectable: put relevant specifications, terms and dated examples beside the claim they support.
  • Keep the next step clear: use a labelled link or button, a short form and an honest explanation of what happens after submission.
  • Test the handoff: confirm that the enquiry reaches the right colleague with its source and enough context to respond.

I would test the same journey with a phone, a keyboard and a browser agent. Can each find the offer, understand the terms and reach the intended next step? This is my usability checklist for agent-assisted browsing. It does not establish eligibility for an advertising placement.

For organic visibility, Google Search Central says the usual SEO practices still apply to AI features, with no special AI schema required. I would keep important information in readable text, use descriptive internal links and make structured data match the visible page.

Measure the result a person can use

For my proposed pilot, I would compare qualified enquiries, cost per qualified enquiry and the proportion requiring clarification with the previous comparable period. I would log other changes that could affect the comparison and keep the original campaign settings available for rollback. This is a suggested evaluation plan, not a reported 3tf client result.

If a customer arrives with one detailed question, can your landing page answer it before asking for their phone number? That is the review I would start today. The follow-up matters too: my website-to-CRM guide explains the handoff I would check next.

Sources and publication date

Published 30 October 2026. I checked Google's announcement dated 28 October, Google Ads Help and Google Search Central on 30 October. Product facts are attributed to Google. The assessment, examples and proposed 3tf pilot are my recommendations; availability and reporting can change.
